1. St Botolphs Church, (The Stump) one of the largest parish churches in England with its tower the highest at 272ft. Why not climb the winding 209 stairs to the first balcony.

2. Pilgrim Fathers Memorial is at Fishtoft and marks the point where the Pilgrim Fathers who were trying to flee England were arrested.

3. The Guildhall Museum built in the 1390's is where the Pilgrim Fathers were imprisoned in 1607. Free entry to this magnificent medieval building from Wednesday to Saturday.

4. Fydell House called the finest house in town was built by Samuel Jackson in 1720 and bought by Joseph Fydell in 1726. Joseph Fydell was a wealthy merchant and importer of cloth. Visit this famous house with its many original features and walled garden.

5. The Maud Foster Windmill which was built in 1819 by Isaac and Thomas Reckitt, it is one of the finest and tallest working mills in the Brithish Isles.

6. On Saturday and Wednesday Boston holds Lincolnshire’s largest open air markets which have been running since at least the 12thcentury with an auction on Bargate Green on Wednesdays plus a monthly Farmers Market.

7. Great for shopping - Boston has an excellent selection of independent retailers as well as famous high street names, cafés, restaurants, takeaways. Treat youself to the famous Boston Sausages and try award winning Tate’s Fish and Chips.

8. The Water Rail Way is a fantastic 40km walking and cycling route from Boston to Lincoln along the River Witham.

9. RSPB sites Frampton Marsh and Freiston Shore sit either side of where the River Witham meets the Wash at Boston. Frampton Marsh is 6 miles from Elms Farm Cottages and has a visitor centre, hides, shelters and trails with free car parking.

10. Maritime Leisure Cruises run boat trips from Sluice Bridge on The Boston Belle or Mystere out into The Wash or up the River Witham

11. Boston Bowl offers Ten-Pin Bowling on 12 lanes, amusements and a café plus Playtowers activity centre on the same site which is a huge indoor adventure play area for children.
