Granary terms & conditions
The Granary – terms & conditions Booking procedure:
- Please contact us as soon as you have a date in mind. We will keep a provisional booking for up to 2 weeks without obligation.
- For all events, except weddings, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total estimated invoice is due upon booking, with the balance due one month prior to the event date.
- When you confirm a booking date for a wedding we require a deposit of £500 together with a signed copy of these terms and conditions.
- 50% of the total estimated cost is due 3 months before the wedding and the remaining balance is due 1 month prior to your wedding day.
- Late or non payment by the hirer will be deemed as a cancellation by us.
- All payments are non-refundable and all fees quoted include VAT where applicable.
- The Granary, when booked for a wedding weekend, will be available to you from 3 pm on the Friday until 3 pm on Sunday.
- All prices quoted are subject to change for events more than twelve months in advance.
General terms & conditions:
- Notification in writing must be given to us in the event of cancellation by the hirer. In the event of a late cancellation (less than two months before event) we reserve the right to charge 75% of the total estimated cost.
- In the event of cancellation by us from reasons beyond our control. Every effort will be made to find you an alternative venue, however we will not be held responsible for any difference in cost or failure to find an alternative venue.
- You are strongly advised to take out insurance to cover cancellation for any reason by either party.
- We will provide either round or trestle tables and chairs for your event, set out as required by prior agreement.
- The Granary will seat up to 80 guests. The number of any extra evening guests, if applicable, must be agreed at the time of your booking, and in any event must not exceed the maximum number for The Granary. Final numbers will be required 2 weeks prior to your event.
- If you or your guests move our tables and chairs during your event care must be taken not to cause damage as you are responsible to recompense us for any damages howsoever caused.
- We are not responsible in any way for arrangements made by the hirer with the Registrar, caterer, band, disco, florist or any other service provider at the event, whether recommended by us or not.
- The hirer must ensure that the kitchen is used in a safe manner and left clean and tidy with all crockery, cutlery, glassware etc. washed and put away. All breakages must be notified to us and paid for.
- You as the hirer may be liable to a cleaning charge if any part of The Granary is not left in a clean and tidy condition.
- The hirer is liable for any damage caused to Elms Farm Cottages, The Granary or its contents by you, your guests, caterers or entertainers.
- We are not responsible or liable for any failure or disruption to provide facilities contracted your event caused by “force majeure” or any other circumstances beyond our control.
- If you wish to organise your own music entertainment your entertainer(s) must present to us their current Public Liability Insurance Policy at least 2 weeks prior to your event. Any electrical equipment must display a current PAT testing label. We reserve the right to deny access to any entertainer who has not or cannot produce the requested documents.
- We cannot accept liability for any items lost, stolen or damaged from The Granary, Cottages or Car park whilst your event is being held.
- Please advise your guests that only biodegradable confetti may be used.
- Smoking is not allowed in The Granary or in any of the cottages, and is restricted to the Courtyard or Car Park.
- The use of Chinese Lanterns or Fireworks are not permitted.
License and bar regulations:
- The door from The Granary to the courtyard must be kept closed whilst your band, disco or any music is being played to comply with our License.
- The Granary is fully licensed and the hirer and all persons attending must comply with all requirements of the licensing act. We are able to supply a bar during your event until 12pm.
- The bar is available, either on a cash basis at the time of purchasing drinks, or if you wish for free drinks to be served for all or part of the evening, then an estimated amount shall be payable prior to the event, with a final adjustment at the end.
- Your music, band or disco entertainment is allowed to play until 12 midnight.
- The venue must be completely vacated by 1.00 am.
- The hirer is permitted to provide their own wine and champagne for a wedding breakfast or party during the agreed times by prior arrangement only.
- The sale of alcohol by the hirer is strictly prohibited to comply with the Licensing Laws.
- Any guests attending a wedding, a party or staying in the cottages are not permitted to bring alcohol into The Granary.
- We reserve the right to close the bar and request any person or persons to leave who do not comply with the above alcohol rules.
- We take no responsibility for any injury caused by drunken or irresponsible behaviour and reserve the right to cancel your event early and ask any persons to leave whose behaviour may cause injury to others.
- As part of our alcohol license the Police require us to store CCTV images taken at Elms Farm Cottages and in The Granary for a minimum of 30 days after an event.
Civil Ceremony conditions:
- Food and alcohol is not allowed to be served before the civil ceremony for legal reasons.
