The rural county of Lincolnshire is famous for its delicious food and drink and here at Elms Farm Cottages we are committed to offering a range of quality local produce to make your stay an authentic and enjoyable Lincolnshire experience.
We have been Highly Commended by Tastes of Lincolnshire for the past two years, 2009 and 2010, for our commitment to Lincolnshire produce and the range we are able to provide to create an authentic Lincolnshire break.
Try the herby succulence of the famous Lincolnshire sausage or the soft fruity flavours of traditional Lincolnshire Plum loaf - perfect topped with a slice of Lincolnshire Poacher Cheese.
Sample the smooth ales from Bateman’s Brewery or enjoy the unusual but delicious taste of Stuffed Pork Chine. There’s a veritable feast of fresh produce available in our county just waiting to be enjoyed!
A complimentary Tastes of Lincolnshire hamper is included in all weekly lets of our self-catering cottages. Each welcome hamper features a tempting selection of goodies to help you settle in including Mountains Sausages from Boston, Myers or Pocklingtons Plum Loaf, Marmalade made especially for our farm, locally baked bread, Batemans Beer, butter and milk. You will also find Fairtrade Tea, Coffee and Sugar in your cottage as standard.
As a working farm we provide a taste of seasonal Elms Farm produce in your hamper such as calabrese (from mid August to the end of October) and potatoes (from mid July to March) etc. You can’t get fewer air miles than this!
If you are staying with us for a weekend or mid-week break, why not add a real ‘Taste of Lincolnshire’ to your time at Elms Farm. For just £18 you can purchase a 'Elms Farm Welcome Pack' direct from us, and we will ensure it is in your cottage for your arrival. (please allow 48 hours notice if you have not ordered your welcome pack when booking).
Our local pub, The Wheatsheaf is a Tastes of Lincolnshire member, serving good food just a short walk away. As Lincolnshire’s official local food project, Tastes of Lincolnshire is passionate about locally sourced produce with a fantastic range of members from homemade ice cream makers to beef farms and chocolate shops to cheese café’s.
Tastes of Lincolnshire produce can be found at many of the local farmers markets and at special events throughout the year including the Lincolnshire Show (June) and Lincolnshire Christmas Food & Drink Fair (November).
Abbey Parks Farm Shop at East Heckington is excellent for homemade cakes, coffee and bistro style meals as well as their speciality Abbey Parks Asparagus which is supplied to top London restaurants.
Archie Hardwick in Dolphin Lane, Boston is a wonderful Deli and Coffee Shop with a superb selection of Cheeses including Lincolnshire Poacher.
You’ll also want to pay a visit to Mountains the Butcher in High Street, Boston - ‘Purveyors of the finest handmade Lincolnshire sausages’. These are the delicious Boston sausages you will find in your welcome hamper! Mountains can also be found every week at London’s Borough Market.
Batemans Brewery at Wainfleet is a great day out and of course, a chance to try some locally brewed beer and ales whilst enjoying the history of this family business.
Carol feeding our rare breed Lincolnshire Buff chickens which are kept around our farm providing fresh farm eggs. The hens produce about 150 eggs each per year.
